Colwood deserves steady, proven leadership, and as a Councillor, Ian Ward has consistently delivered for residents. With his experience on council, he has focused on maintaining essential services, guiding responsible budgeting, and advancing infrastructure and safety improvements that strengthen neighborhoods. He listens to neighbors, collaborates with staff and regional partners, and works to keep Colwood affordable and vibrant for families and businesses alike. Re-electing Ian Ward would provide continuity, accountability, and a council voice focused on practical solutions to Colwood’s everyday concerns—from streets and parks to growth and community well-being.
AS CHAIR OF THE LAND USE & PLANNING COMMITTEE IAN WARD:
-Pushed successfully for new Parks Development Cost Charges, claiming hundreds of thousands of dollars for the commuity
-Negotiated with developers to enhance value adds including park / green space acquisition, amenities, and sewer linkage
-Provided common sense pushback on non-OCP compliant projects
-Extracted maximum value for roads, parks & community amenities
-Guided decision making alongside residents with community consultation grounded in the Official Community Plan.
-Advanced the Zero Carbon Step Code to align with Colwood's OCP goals on environment & climate
